1. Welcome

These Terms of Service apply to your use of backyardhomesteadsupplyco.com (the "Site") and any purchase you make from us. The Site is operated by Creative Digital Strategies LLC, doing business as Backyard Homestead Supply Co. ("we," "us," or "our"). By browsing the Site or placing an order, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Site.

2. Who We Are and What We Sell

We sell chicken coops and related backyard homestead products made by independent builders and manufacturers. We are a retailer, not the manufacturer. Many items ship directly from the builder or manufacturer's facility rather than from our location, and an order with more than one item may arrive in separate shipments.

3. Products, Descriptions, and Pricing

We do our best to describe and photograph products accurately, but colors, dimensions, and finishes can vary slightly, especially with handcrafted wood products. Manufacturers may update designs or materials without notice.

Prices are in U.S. dollars and may change at any time. If a product is listed at the wrong price because of an obvious error, we may cancel the order and refund you in full, even after the order is placed. Promotional codes are for one-time use unless stated otherwise and can't be combined with other offers.

4. Placing an Order

When you place an order, you're making an offer to buy. We accept it when we confirm your order by email. We may decline or cancel an order for reasons including stock availability, pricing errors, incomplete or inaccurate information, or suspected fraud. If we cancel an order you've already paid for, we'll refund you.

Payments are processed securely by third-party payment providers. We don't store your full card number. Applicable sales tax is calculated and added at checkout.

5. Shipping and Delivery

We offer free shipping on qualifying orders within the contiguous United States, as described in our Shipping Policy. Large items usually travel by freight carrier. Delivery timeframes are estimates, not guarantees, and can be affected by builder production schedules, weather, and carrier delays.

Inspect your delivery. Before signing for a freight shipment, check the packaging for damage. Note any visible damage on the delivery paperwork, take photos, and contact us within [48 hours] of delivery so we can help file a claim. Our Shipping Policy has more detail.

6. Returns and Refunds

Returns, refunds, and our 100-day return window are governed by our Refund Policy. Please read it before you order. Items must meet the condition requirements listed there.

7. Assembly, Installation, and Safe Use

Many of our products require assembly. You're responsible for assembling, installing, and using every product according to the manufacturer's instructions and with appropriate safety precautions. Coops and their parts can be heavy and have sharp edges or fasteners, so get help when you need it, and keep children and pets clear during assembly.

No coop is predator-proof. When we describe a product as "predator-resistant" or highlight security features, we're describing its design, not guaranteeing it will stop every predator. Protection depends on how the coop is installed, where it's placed, how it's maintained, and what predators are in your area. You are responsible for securing your flock, which can include locking the coop every night, reinforcing the run, and adding other protections.

8. Manufacturer Warranties

Products may come with a warranty from the manufacturer. Where one applies, the manufacturer's warranty terms control, and we'll help you start a claim. Except for what's stated in these terms or required by law, we don't provide additional warranties on products.

9. Guides and Other Content

The articles and guides on our Site are general information about keeping chickens. They are not veterinary, legal, or professional advice. For concerns about your birds' health, talk to a qualified veterinarian. For questions about local rules on keeping chickens, check with your city, county, or HOA.

10. Your Use of the Site

Please use the Site only for lawful purposes. Don't try to interfere with the Site's operation, access areas you're not authorized to use, submit false information, or use automated tools to collect data from the Site without our permission.

If you create an account, keep your login information private. You're responsible for activity under your account.

11. Intellectual Property

The content on this Site, including text, photos, logos, and design, belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by copyright and trademark laws. You may view and print pages for personal, non-commercial use. Please don't copy, republish, or sell our content without written permission.

12. Third-Party Links and Services

The Site may link to third-party websites or use third-party services such as payment processors and shipping carriers. We don't control those, and we're not responsible for their content or practices.

13. Limitation of Liability

The Site is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Site or our products, including loss of animals, property damage, or lost profits. Our total liability for any claim related to an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. Some states don't allow certain limitations, so these may not apply to you in full.

Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under applicable consumer protection laws.

14. Indemnification

You agree to cover losses and costs (including reasonable legal fees) that result from your violation of these terms or your misuse of a product, to the extent the law allows.

15. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Pima County, AZ, unless the law requires otherwise.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top shows the latest version. Continued use of the Site after changes means you accept the updated terms. Orders are governed by the terms in effect when you placed them.
